Once upon a time there was a magical place called Authonomy. It was a place where writers and poets came together to share their work, critique their comrades, and learn from the masters. It was also a kingdom of unrest and intense competition.
There, two women met, realized their dreams and goals were aligned, and so they embarked on a journey to create something new. Knowing their plan wouldn’t work without a designer, they invited a talented graphic artist along for the ride, and Morning Rain Publishing (MRP) was born.
This five-year adventure brought so many great writers together. They worked with each other, supported each other, and helped each other grow and market their works. Before they knew it, MRP grew from a partnership of three into a great big family reaching across Canada from the West coast to the Eastern shores.
Under the MRP brand, we reviewed 282 submissions, published 49 works (including novels, short stories, anthologies, and collections), and worked with over 20 authors. We provided editing, formatting, and cover design services to many other authors.
It’s a tough thing to realize when it’s time to say good-bye. We love MRP—the authors, the readers, the projects, the energy, and the dynamics—but after five years, we’ve decided it’s time to focus on some personal projects.
We’d like to take this time to thank everyone who has supported us and our authors; we couldn’t have done it without you.
